Effects of elevated temperature on the behaviour of concrete beams reinforced with fiber reinforced polymers

Abstract Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) rebars have increasing popularity in the construction industry all around world although steel are widely used for reinforcing of concrete so far. FRP bars, which higher tensile strength compared to with same nominal diameter under normal conditions, composed resin matrix and fibers. In this paper, load-bearing capacity after elevated temperature exposition present. The results sample reinforcement. Commercially produced glass (GFRP) carbon (CFRP) sand coatings surface treatments were implemented beam subjected four-point bending load. residual flexural heating 1000°C was obtained evaluated non-heated elements. indicate that fire resistance beams can reach at least 60 minutes according standard ČSN EN 13501-2.
